    Three Seas initiative and business opportunities in Central Europe were discussed during a seminar that took place on November 23, 2017 at Carleton University in Ottawa.

    The speakers included: ambassadors of Poland and Croatia Mr. Andrzej Kurnicki and Ms. Marica Matkovic as well as vice president of the Cyclone Manufacturing Inc. Mr. Daniel Dobrjanski.

     

    Ambassador Andrzej Kurnicki stressed in his speech that Central Europe creates great investment and trade opportunities. – Taking into consideration CETA, prospects of expansion in Europe are immense – emphasized ambassador Kurnicki. Ambassador Matkovic pointed out that Three Seas Initiative brings more unity to the European Union and that there will be more than 150 projects worth billions of euro open also to Canadians. Mr. Daniel Dobrjanski talked about positive experience and outcomes of investing in Poland of the Cyclone Manufacturing Inc. that opened a plant producing aircraft parts in Kraśnik in 2016.

     

    The seminar was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and was a part of the Distinguished Speakers Series at Carleton University.

     

    The Three Seas Initiative is a forum of European Union countries in Central Europe. It aims to create a north-south dialogue on a variety of questions affecting the member states. The Three Seas Initiative has twelve member countries along a north-south axis from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The twelve members met for their first summit in Dubrovnik in 2016 and then in Warsaw in 2017.
