    Situation in Ukraine has been discussed during the meeting of the Ambassador of Poland to Canada, Marcin Bosacki with the President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), Eugene Czolij on January 28, 2014 in Montreal, Canada. The interview was also attended by the Consul General of Poland in Montreal, Andrzej Szydło.

     

    Eugene Czolij expressed UWC’s gratitude to Poland for avidly promoting Ukraine’s Euro-integration and the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement. The Polish Ambassador and UWC President discussed the most recent developments in Ukraine. They also agreed on the need to find a peaceful and democratic resolution of the crisis in Ukraine.

     

    Ambassador Bosacki indicated that “the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement is still on the table and that a broader assistance package should be envisaged to facilitate the implementation of true reforms and modernization of Ukraine”.

     

    The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is the international coordinating body for Ukrainian communities in the diaspora representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians. The UWC has member organizations in 33 countries and ties with Ukrainians in 14 additional countries. Founded in 1967, the UWC was recognized in 2003 by the United Nations Economic and Social Council as a non‑governmental organization (NGO) with special consultative status.
