    - Polish is cool! - according to the participants of the Polish language classes organized by the Polish Embassy in Ottawa during the European Day of Languages. Poland’s Embassy was one of fourteen European Union embassies in Canada taking part in the project carried out in cooperation with the EU delegation in Ottawa, EUNIC cluster and the Ottawa-Carlton District School Board.

    There were many foreign languages enthusiasts gathered at Glebe Collegiate Secondary School on Saturday 27th September 2014. Those who decided to learn Polish as well as Polish booth visitors could find out more about tourists attractions of our country, the possibilities of studying in Poland, as well as enjoy delicious Polish sweets and juice made of Polish apples.

     

    European Day of Languages has been celebrated since 2001. Its aim is to celebrate linguistic diversity in Europe and to promote foreign languages  learning. There are many events organized all over the world at the end of September, which encourage people to learn new languages. The organizers of various projects emphasize that learning foreign languages helps not only in relations between people, but also contributes to breaking down many barriers.
